Can I use plastic bags or metal tubes for cigar storage?
Metal tubes and air-tight plastic bags allow well-preserved cigars to be kept for several days before drying out. For short-term storage in plastic bags, care should be taken to remove any air inside the bag before sealing it. Tubes and plastic bags should not be exposed to direct sunlight or excessive heat, as it can lead to the cigars becoming too moist. Also, tubes and bags should only be opened when you are ready to smoke the cigar to avoid humidity loss.
An exception is the stainless steel case for two cigars from adorini with an integrated mini humidifier and cedar wood lining or the version for one cigar. Any moisture lost from opening the tube will quickly be restored when the lid is closed.
Even cigars packed in metal tubes or in cellophane cannot be stored indefinitely outside a humidor, because the humidity will escape over time. For prolonged storage, cigars should be kept in a humidor with humidity control.
